Broken Legacy 1 Kickstarter Variant

This is the variant cover that we are giving to the backers of our Kickstarter we ran in the summer. drew the heroes, Tobias and Gabe, I drew the dragon and colored it up.

Greetings once more from Broken Legacy central!

I know it's been a while since the last time I wrote an unnecessarily over-wordy project update for all of you nice people, but in the interim Jesse and I have made some first rate progress on much of your swag.

The meat of Broken Legacy #1 (see: the main story) is well on it's way to completion. To pad out the book, Jesse threatened me with a hot poker if I didn't contribute some artwork to the issue myself, so I'm writing and partially illustrating a back-up story to appear in the issue as well. We've also dragged our pals and fellow former classmates Jacob "Kansas" Rhodes and Joel "Perspective Lines" Lolar into the mix to assist me with the art chores on the aforementioned back-up story. You can be sure that the back-up is going to be worth it because Jesse almost disowned all 3 of us as friends during the design process for the characters. If something's worth fighting over, it must be good! Just think of all those toys you used to fight over with your brothers and/or sisters when you were 7 years old. Those were pretty darned cool, right? Certainly worth an indian burn, some pulled hair, and a time-out when Mom and Dad found out.

...man...that just reminded me of how bad indian burns hurt. Give me a noogie over one of those any day.

But enough of that boring old behind-the-scenes mumbo jumbo. By now you're probably thinking, "Didn't the title of this update promise some new artwork? He, funny-boy! Make with the pictures!" So without further ado, allow me to introduce you to the Kickstarter Exclusive Variant Cover to Broken Legacy #1. I drew our heroes Tobias and Gabriel, and (as per usual) Jesse did everything else. This piece was a lot of fun to work on and we're both very happy with how it turned out. In a few short months, everyone who pledged at least $8 to our campaign for the Print & Digital level reward will receive a physical copy of Broken Legacy #1 with this bad boy on the cover, along with a copy sporting the regular cover, a digital download of the issue, and whatever else you've got coming to you depending on your donation level.

Now, before I sign off, allow me to remind everyone that at some point in the not-too-distant future we will be sending out little surveys to gather information that's important to getting your rewards out the door and into your hands. These surveys will pop up fairly close to the delivery deadline of the book so that we can gather accurate info concerning where to send your merch. I just wanted to give you all a reminder to keep one eye peeled for those messages.
